Langford Cunningham’s story is quite inspiring and intriguing. During his youth, Cunningham experienced the ugly side of street life – corruption, drugs, violence, and more. He battled destructive behaviours, and when he decided to change his life for the better, he got a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and for more than 15 years, Cunningham worked at the St Louis County Juvenile Detention as a DJP Deputy Juvenile Officer.

Blind City Podcast, a grassroot movement dedicated to discussions surrounding the Black and Brown communities, is holding a summit on human trafficking in St. Louis.
“Just because you lost your sight doesn’t mean you lost your vision,” the voice said. After that moment, Cunningham realized he could still help those lost in darkness like he was. On March 9, 2020, Cunningham
launched “Blind City”, a nationwide podcast that helps people struggling with depression and suicide, substance abuse and addiction,
“I need to get more attention to this, to put more of a light on minority girls disappearing,” Cunningham says. “Sometimes, society writes them off as being from dysfunctional families or runaways.”
“You don’t have to be from that community to help out,” says Cunningham. “This is about humanity. We all need to make a change. All the communities that have the resources should be able to help the communities that don’t have as many resources. We need to put the word neighbor back into our community.”
